I can't remember anything else that I had to eat, so "forgettable" is an accurate description of Jing Du. When I went to the "hibachi" station, no one was there to cook, and there were no bean sprouts in sight. When I looked for hot mustard, the only thing that I could find was small plastic packets, like those that you find in the bottom of a bag of carryout. There was not a single pork preparation to be found. The hot buffet line contained six different meat items, including unseasoned and unflavored chicken wings - a Japanese specialty? Of the remaining meat items, all were chicken with the exception of a single beef dish. I didn't finish it, and decided not to try any of the other offerings. This seemed to be confirmed by the flavor, which didn't taste like any Salmon that I've had before. When I got back to the table, and took a closer look, the color of the fish seemed artificial. So, I started with the most basic - Salmon - no sauce, nor herbs, nor vegetables, just rice. This establishment has a reputation for Sushi, and the visual display and apparent variety is impressive. If you're confused, and disappointed, then so was I. Therefore, conspicuous by its absence, was egg roll - something to be found on virtually every other oriental buffet in Southwest Florida but not here. The sign on the outside of the building says "Japanese" buffet, but the first item that I saw was egg drop soup, which is Chinese in origin.
